Assaggiare Mendocino Announces Sea-to-Table Experience

As a part of “Taste Mendocino, Celebrating Regional Bounty 2008,” All-Aboard Adventures and Assaggiare Mendocino team up to bring you the Sea-to-Table Ultimate Experience on Saturday, February 2, 2008. This combination crabbing excursion and cooking class is a must-do for the adventurous cook. Mendocino County is unique in that Local really means Local, at least in terms of Pacific Dungeness crab! One of northern California’s last working commercial fishing ports, Noyo Harbor is the home of the Sea Hawk and Captain Tim Gillespie. The excursion begins at 7:00AM when you board the boat bound for the crabbing grounds. Upon return, the catch is cooked, cracked and cleaned, followed by a light lunch of freshly caught crab and Mendocino sourdough. Assaggiare Mendocino’s Julia Kendrick Conway then presents a hands-on cooking class followed by a crab supper and Mendocino wine pairing.
